BP - The Horror Story

July 7th, 2010

BP otherwise known as British Petroleum is part of one of the soon to be largest man-made catastrophes of the decade. I have done so much research on this oil spill in the gulf, that I deem government efforts aimless and insensitive. After watching some documentaries made by concerned citizens, I began to piece together known facts. I'll leave it up to you to decide what is relevant or irrelevant.

1.  The US Government has refused aid from oil collectors, and eco-friendly international solutions.

2.  Water samples taken from the Gulf of Mexico have shown 360-440 ppm (Parts Per Million) of Propylene Glycol. Propylene Glycol happens to be one of the ingredients of Corexit. The EPA has ordered BP to cut back on the Corexit by 50%-75% last May. Take note, it only takes 25 PPM to kill most fish. The Gulf is at 360-440 PPM!

3.  The Horizon Oil Spill continues to leak out 250,000+ gallons of oil per day.

4.  Admiral Thad Allen had stated "media will have uninhibited access unless it's a security or safety problem." The Coast Guard has new rules that keep people 65 feet away from response vessels or booms. If you violate this law, you'll be charged with a Class D Felony and a $40,000 fine! The coast guard was originally going to place the rule at 300 feet before scaling it back. Therefore if there are any oil soaked birds on an island with boom next to it, rescuers can't save them.

5.  We don't have the equipment we need! St. Bernard Parish has 96 skimmers on paper, but they only have 18 as far as July 04, 2010.

Obama wanted to know "what potential crisis this could be."  Well Obama, take a look around you. Keeping the media from reporting what is actually happening is only going to go so far. Ladies and Gentleman this is more than just a map with the effected areas in red... This is a biosphere that is in destruction.
